ARTIST NELLIE HEARN
I'm Neil Hearn (aka Nellie Hearn), a former Ballroom and Latin American dance champion. As a qualified coach, I spent a decade in South East Asia coaching couples.
My career as a dancer and artist has seen me appear on various TV stations around the world and, more recently, on BBC2's Gardener's World.
I must have been born to dance, because that is all I can remember from my childhood.
I won many competitions here in the UK
and abroad, including major championships.
I retired from dance in 2003 and, although I still perform occasionally, woke up a few years ago and suddenly had an urge to paint.
I have no idea where this urge came from but I quickly bought some paint brushes and I was soon surprised by my hidden talents.
I’m convinced my dance background had some hidden influence on my artististic talents.
My paintings are inspired by what I feel, not what I see, and the most important aspects with each painting I create is movement and colour.
The medias used to create my artwork are acrylics, pastels, watercolours and brusho, generally with a combination of all four.
I'm now exporting art to all corners of the globe and, to date, I have in excess of 1,300 original artworks, the majority of which are sold immediately upon release.
Almost 50,000 limited edition prints of these original paintings have also been sold.
I live in rural Wiltshire and married to my partner, Jonathan Hearn.
You can also keep up to date with my work on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
